June 10th - June 14th:
Animakers Factory (Ages 6-11)
Join our group of creators and inventors. Use motors, cables, batteries, buzzers, propellers and other materials to create your own toys. Apply principles of friction, speed, simple machines, gear assembly to invent things that you can play with the rest of the summer. If you are creative and like making things this camp if for you.
Animakers Factory is based on stories that will challenge you to create prototype solution models.
June 17th - June 21st:
Minecraft Entrepreneur (Ages 6-11)
Create your own hypothetical real estate business. Design and build digital properties using Minecraft. You will create your company name, logo, slogan, property catalog, and code an animated commercial to advertise you digital properties. This class will help you with teamwork, creativity, focus, and will give you the opportunity to present your project. BRAINopolis will enable laptops to work in class. Some activities will require students to share a laptop and work in pairs. Bring your own mouse and flash drive.
June 24th - June 28th:
Pokemon Programming (Ages 6-11)
Help Pikachu against Charizard. Bulbosaur to find a ride to a pokéstop, and teach Squirtle to play with pokéballs. In this Pokemon mission you will learn coding commands to create your own computer games. You will use costume commands, blocks and user interaction routines. Why play the games that everyone has when you can make your own. Brainopolis will enable laptops to work in class. Some activities will require students to share a laptop and work in pairs. Bring your own mouse and flash drive.
July 8th - July 12th:
DJ Academy (Ages 7-13)
If you like music and technology, this is the camp for you. Learn about beats, phrases, music genres and scratch techniques as you mix and create digital music. Brainopolis will enable a laptop and DJ controllers to work in pairs. Bring your own mouse and headphones. On the last 20 minutes on Friday you will be able to showcase your DJ skills to impress your family and/or friends.
July 15th - July 19th:
Toy Makers (Ages 6-11)
Create toy prototypes and learn about cost, price, vendors, customers, cash flow, profit and sales as you play with us to start your hypothetical business. You will be on the edge at all times as the business circumstances change constantly. The vendor changed materials, the competitors lowered their prices, the customer ordered more merchandise, the assembly line must include delivery, a company merge and downsizing will keep you busy as you analyze and make decisions to improve your business.
July 22nd - July 26th:
Artificial Intelligence (Ages 6-13)
Create a heart pace maker model, code a heart monitor simulator, program a digital car that memorizes where obstacles are and a digital robot that asks people questions and learns from the answers to communicate. We will learn about Watson and other AI tools and their connection with robotics. Brainopolis will enable laptops to work in class. Some activities will require students to share a laptop and work in pairs. Bring your own mouse and flash drive.
Building Bolts for Nuts (Ages 7-13)
Join our construction challenge as we use nuts, bolts and tools to create structures and apply principles of mechanics to build mobile toys. This program enhances the use of critical thinking to decide how to optimize resources to complete projects, encourages creativity and the ability to apply divergent thinking while developing motor skills, eye-hand coordination and spatial skills.
